Marsh House provides 24/7 support in a positive, safe environment to women at risk of sexual exploitation. Their vulnerabilities include drug and alcohol dependency and mental health issues and many have been in the prison system.
The house has communal living and dining areas and can accommodate seven women in high quality studio rooms.
During the day women engage with partner agencies eg recovery services, probation, social services, and then cook and share an evening meal. This is followed by a range of agreed activities designed to increase emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.
All women have individual support plans. ROC Solid support staff facilitate some aspects of this learning eg budgeting, cooking, life skills etc and partner with other local agencies and charities for others eg Power to Change, The 12 Steps Recovery Programme, Celebrate Recovery, literacy, numeracy, computer skills, and psychotherapy counselling.
We can support women at a range of appointments including court, medical and drug rehab and while visiting their families. Importantly, staff provide a listening ear, and sound advice, when they most need it.
Many clients have broken from their past and are now living positive lives in ROC Solid houses, one was overjoyed to have her children returned to her from the care system.
We receive positive feedback from clients and professional agencies and from the women themselves.
